Our Location
Braggers Wood was first leased by Lord Manners to Christchurch District Scouts in 1965. We are grateful to the Manners family’s generosity over the past 45 years.
We are sited on eight acres of forest woodland, situated on the South West Corner of the New Forest National Park, between the three major towns of Bournemouth, Ringwood and Christchurch, providing plenty of opportunity for offsite activities.
Christchurch - Is uniquely situated on the shores of its own harbour, close to the magnificent Dorset World Heritage Coast and the New Forest National Park. The mix of fascinating heritage, beautiful coastline and countryside make this a perfect location for a day out.
Bournemouth - Bournemouth has seven miles of golden sands and sparkling sea. It has vast variety of attractions in and around Bournemouth, shops, restaurants and holiday accommodation, buzzing night-life, events, theatres & shows and endless countryside.
Ringwood - Ringwood is the Western Gateway to the beautiful New Forest, at a crossing point of the River Avon. It is a traditional market town of the New Forest with its market charter dating back to 1226.
Poole - It boasts the biggest natural harbour is the UK, the harbour is a drowned valley formed at the end of the last ice age. There are several islands with in the harbour including Brownsea Island.
Burley - Depicts everything you would expect from a traditional, New Forest village. The animals are allowed to graze in the open field which is call communing. Burley is one of the last remaining villages to practise this.
Lyndhurst - Is the capital of the New Forest, now a tourist centre. Ideal for a day visit.
